Turkish Sunflower Seed Pilaf
A unique pilaf variation that uses CEREN Classic Extra Salty Roasted Seeds for crunch and flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 cup long-grain rice (washed and drained)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons CEREN Classic Extra Salty Roasted Seeds (shelled)
- 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
Toast rice: Melt butter and olive oil in a pot. Add rice and sauté for 3–4 minutes until slightly translucent.
Add seeds: Stir in shelled CEREN Classic Extra Salty Roasted Seeds, mixing well.
Cook pilaf: Pour in hot broth, season with black pepper, and cover. Simmer on low until liquid is absorbed (15–18 minutes).
Rest & fluff: Let rest covered for 10 minutes. Fluff gently with a fork.
Serve: Garnish with parsley. Works perfectly alongside grilled meats or vegetable stews.
