Orange Harissa Glazed Duck Breast
A gourmet-style dish where the sweet citrus of orange balances the spice of harissa.
Ingredients
- 2 duck breasts, skin on
- 2 tablespoons CEREN Orange Harissa
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- Juice of ½ an orange
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
Prepare duck: Score the skin of duck breasts in a crisscross pattern. Season with salt and pepper.
Render fat: Place duck skin-side down in a cold skillet. Cook over medium heat for 7–8 minutes until fat is rendered and skin is crisp. Flip and cook another 3–4 minutes.
Make glaze: In a small pan, mix CEREN Orange Harissa, honey, soy sauce, ginger, and orange juice. Simmer until slightly thickened.
Glaze duck: Brush duck breasts with glaze and finish in oven at 200°C (400°F) for 5 minutes.
Serve: Slice thinly and drizzle with extra glaze. Pairs beautifully with roasted root vegetables or couscous.
