Indonesian Sambal Fried Rice (Nasi Goreng)
The ultimate Indonesian street food, made fiery with CEREN Sambal Oelek.
Ingredients
2 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old)
- 2 tablespoons CEREN Sambal Oelek
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon kecap manis (sweet soy sauce)
- 2 eggs
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 carrot, diced
- ½ cup cooked chicken, shrimp, or tofu (optional)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Fresh cucumber and tomato slices for garnish
Instructions
Prepare eggs: In a wok, scramble eggs, set aside.
Stir-fry base: Heat oil, sauté onion, garlic, and carrot until soft. Add CEREN Sambal Oelek, stir-fry until fragrant.
Add rice & sauces: Toss in rice, soy sauce, and kecap manis. Stir-fry until evenly coated. Add protein (if using) and scrambled eggs.
Serve: Top with cucumber and tomato slices.
