Classic Turkish Stuffed Dried Peppers
A Southeastern Turkish favorite, where dried peppers are stuffed with a fragrant rice mixture.
Ingredients
- 15 pieces CEREN Dried Pepper Dolma
- 1 cup medium-grain rice
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons CEREN Tomato Paste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ½ bunch parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried mint
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon chili flakes
- Salt, to taste
- 2 cups hot water
Instructions
Soften peppers: Boil CEREN Dried Pepper Dolma for 8–10 minutes until softened. Drain well.
Prepare filling: In a bowl, combine rice, onion, parsley, tomato paste, olive oil, and spices. Mix thoroughly.
Stuff peppers: Fill each pepper with rice mixture, leaving space for expansion.
Cook: Place stuffed peppers upright in a pot. Mix 1 tablespoon tomato paste with hot water, pour over. Cover with a plate and simmer for 35–40 minutes until rice is tender.
Serve: Drizzle with olive oil and serve warm with plain yogurt.
