Bulgur Pilaf with Green Lentils
A hearty and protein-rich pilaf made with CEREN Bulgur for Pilaf and green lentils.
Ingredients
- 1 cup CEREN Bulgur for Pilaf
- ½ cup green lentils
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons CEREN Tomato Paste
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 ½ cups hot water or broth
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
Cook lentils: Boil green lentils in salted water for 15 minutes until half-cooked. Drain.
Prepare base: Heat olive oil in a pot, sauté onion until golden. Stir in CEREN Tomato Paste and cumin.
Add bulgur and lentils: Mix in bulgur and lentils. Season with salt and black pepper.
Simmer: Pour in hot water or broth, stir once, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes until liquid is absorbed.
Serve: Fluff with a fork and serve with yogurt or pickles.
