Bulgur Meatballs in Tomato Sauce
Tender CEREN Esmer Köftelik Bulgur meatballs simmered in a rich tomato sauce.
Ingredients
For the meatballs:
- 1 cup CEREN Esmer Köftelik Bulgur
- 200 g ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1 onion, grated
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and black pepper to taste
For the sauce:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons CEREN Tomato Paste
- 2 medium tomatoes, diced
- 2 cups hot water
- ½ teaspoon paprika
Instructions
Prepare the meatball mix: Soak CEREN Esmer Köftelik Bulgur in hot water for 10 minutes. Add beef, egg, onion, flour, and spices. Knead until well combined. Shape into small balls.
Cook the sauce: Heat olive oil in a pot, stir in CEREN Tomato Paste, and cook for 1–2 minutes. Add diced tomatoes and cook until soft. Pour in hot water and bring to a simmer.
Add meatballs: Gently drop bulgur meatballs into the simmering sauce. Cook covered on low heat for 20–25 minutes, until the meatballs are tender and the sauce thickens.
Serve: Garnish with parsley and serve hot with rice or bulgur pilaf.
