Brown Bulgur & Spinach Fritters
Crispy fritters made with CEREN Brown Bulgur for Meatballs, spinach, and herbs — great as a snack or meze.
Ingredients
- 1 cup CEREN Brown Bulgur for Meatballs
- 1 ½ cups hot water
- 200 g fresh spinach, chopped
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup flour
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon chili flakes
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Olive oil for frying
Instructions
Soften bulgur: Place bulgur in a bowl, pour over hot water, cover, and let sit 15 minutes. Fluff with a fork.
Prepare mixture: Add spinach, onion, eggs, flour, and spices to the bulgur. Mix until thick batter forms.
Cook fritters: Heat olive oil in a nonstick pan. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture and flatten slightly. Fry each side 2–3 minutes until golden.
Serve: Serve warm with garlic yogurt dip or tzatziki.
