Black Bean Veggie Burgers
Wholesome plant-based burgers made with CEREN Black Beans, oats, and spices.
Ingredients
- 2 cups CEREN Black Beans (cooked or canned, drained well)
- 1 carrot, grated
- ½ cup rolled oats
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- ½ teaspoon chili powder
- 1 egg (or flax egg for vegan option)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
Mash beans: In a large bowl, mash CEREN Black Beans with a fork, leaving some texture.
Add ingredients: Mix in carrot, oats, onion, garlic, spices, and egg. Stir until mixture holds together. If too wet, add more oats.
Shape patties: Form into 4–6 burger patties.
Cook: Heat olive oil in a skillet. Fry patties 3–4 minutes per side until golden and firm.
Serve: Place in burger buns with lettuce, tomato, and your favorite sauce.
