New Orleans Muffuletta Sandwich with Spicy Olive Salad
Inspiration: The iconic muffuletta sandwich from New Orleans is defined by its olive salad. Using CEREN Spicy Olive Salad brings smoky heat to this Creole–Italian fusion classic.
Ingredients
- 1 large round loaf (ciabatta or focaccia)
- 1 cup CEREN Spicy Olive Salad
- 150 g mortadella (or smoked turkey for halal-friendly)
- 150 g salami (or spicy beef sausage)
- 150 g provolone cheese
- 150 g mozzarella cheese
- 1 roasted red pepper, sliced (CEREN Roasted Red Peppers work beautifully)
Instructions
Prepare bread: Slice loaf horizontally. Scoop out a little soft bread to make room for fillings.
Layer fillings: Spread CEREN Spicy Olive Salad on both halves. Layer meats, cheeses, and roasted pepper.
Press & rest: Close sandwich tightly, wrap in foil, and press with a heavy weight for at least 1 hour (to let olive salad soak the bread).
Serve: Cut into wedges.
