Greek Dakos Salad with Black Olives & Feta
Inspiration: A Cretan island specialty, dakos uses barley rusks as a base. It’s lighter than a typical salad but full of punchy, sun-kissed flavors.
Ingredients
- 2 large barley rusks (or thick toasted bread)
- 2 medium tomatoes, grated or finely chopped
- ½ cup CEREN Black Olives, halved
- 100 g feta cheese, crumbled
- 2 tablespoons CEREN Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt & pepper, to taste
Instructions
Prepare rusks: Sprinkle rusks lightly with water so they soften slightly but stay crunchy.
Top with tomato: Spread grated tomato over each rusk. Season with salt and pepper.
Add olives & feta: Scatter CEREN Black Olives and crumbled feta cheese generously.
Finish: Drizzle with olive oil and oregano. Serve immediately.
👉 This simple yet powerful Greek dish highlights the olive as a central flavor, balanced by tomato sweetness and feta’s tang.
