Harissa-Spiced Shakshuka with Feta
A North African–inspired brunch dish where CEREN Harissa Spice Blend brings smoky heat to a rich tomato and pepper sauce.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, sliced thin
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons CEREN Harissa Spice Blend
- 2 tablespoons CEREN Tomato Paste
- 1 can diced tomatoes (400 g)
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 4–5 eggs
- ½ cup crumbled feta cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
Build the base: Heat olive oil in a skillet. Sauté onion and red pepper until soft. Add garlic and CEREN Harissa Spice Blend, cook until fragrant.
Add sauce: Stir in CEREN Tomato Paste, canned tomatoes, cumin, salt, and pepper. Simmer 15 minutes until thick.
Add eggs: Make small wells in the sauce, crack eggs in, cover, and cook until whites are set but yolks remain runny.
Finish: Sprinkle with feta and parsley. Serve with warm bread.
