Spicy Bulgur Pilaf
A classic Turkish side dish with a kick from CEREN Hot Pepper Paste.
Ingredients
- 1 cup CEREN Bulgur for Pilaf
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 green pepper, diced
- 2 tablespoons CEREN Hot Pepper Paste
- 2 tablespoons CEREN Tomato Paste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cups hot vegetable broth (or water)
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
Sauté vegetables: In a pot, heat olive oil. Add onion and green pepper, cook until softened.
Add pastes: Stir in CEREN Hot Pepper Paste and CEREN Tomato Paste. Cook for 2–3 minutes to release flavor.
Cook bulgur: Add bulgur, cumin, black pepper, and salt. Stir well. Pour in hot broth, cover, and simmer on low until liquid is absorbed (15–18 minutes).
Rest & fluff: Let rest for 10 minutes, then fluff with a fork.
Serve: A perfect companion to grilled meats, kebabs, or vegetable stews.
