Ottoman-Style Fig Garland Dessert
A traditional Turkish dessert made by simmering CEREN Dried Figs Garland with milk for a creamy pudding.
Ingredients
- 12 figs from CEREN Dried Figs Garland (stems removed, finely chopped)
- 3 cups warm milk
- 2 tablespoons honey
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- Crushed walnuts or pistachios for garnish
Instructions
Prepare figs: Finely chop the figs and soak them in 1 cup warm milk for 10 minutes to soften.
Simmer: In a saucepan, add chopped figs, remaining milk, and honey. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture thickens (about 20 minutes).
Flavor: Stir in cinnamon and remove from heat.
Cool: Pour into small serving bowls and refrigerate until set.
Serve: Garnish with walnuts or pistachios before serving. A traditional yet naturally healthy dessert.
