Red Bean Veggie Burgers
A modern vegetarian burger made with CEREN Boiled Red Beans, oats, and spices.
Ingredients
- 2 cups CEREN Boiled Red Beans (drained well)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 carrot, grated
- ½ cup rolled oats
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 egg (or flax egg for vegan)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
Mash beans: In a bowl, mash CEREN Boiled Red Beans with a fork, leaving some texture.
Add ingredients: Mix in onion, carrot, oats, garlic, spices, and egg. Stir until combined. If too soft, add more oats.
Shape patties: Form into 4–6 burger patties.
Cook: Heat olive oil in a skillet. Fry patties 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and firm.
Serve: Place in burger buns with lettuce, tomato, and your favorite sauce.
