Turkish-Style White Bean Stew
A beloved Anatolian classic, this stew with CEREN Canned Beans is hearty, flavorful, and best enjoyed with rice or bulgur pilaf.
Ingredients
- 2 cups CEREN Canned Beans (drained and rinsed)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons CEREN Tomato Paste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 tomato, diced
- 2 cups hot water or broth
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
Sauté base: Heat olive oil in a pot. Add onion and green pepper, cook until softened. Stir in CEREN Tomato Paste and paprika, sauté for 2 minutes.
Add beans: Stir in diced tomato and CEREN Canned Beans. Mix well.
Simmer: Pour in hot water or broth, season with salt and black pepper. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes until thickened.
Serve: Traditionally served with rice or CEREN Bulgur Pilaf and pickles.
