Bulgur Balls in Yogurt Sauce
A comforting dish made with CEREN Bulgur Balls in Yogurt Sauce balls simmered in water and served with creamy garlic yogurt.
Ingredients
For the bulgur balls:
- 1 ½ cups CEREN Çiğ Köftelik Bulgur
- ½ cup hot water
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon cumin
For the sauce:
- 2 cups yogurt (preferably strained)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried mint
- ½ teaspoon paprika
Instructions
Prepare the bulgur mixture: Soak CEREN Bulgur with hot water for 10 minutes. Add egg, flour, salt, pepper, and cumin. Knead well until it forms a smooth dough.
Shape the köftes: With damp hands, roll the mixture into small balls (about the size of a hazelnut).
Cook the köftes: Bring salted water to a gentle boil. Drop in the bulgur balls and cook until they rise to the surface (about 5–6 minutes). Drain carefully.
Make the yogurt sauce: In a bowl, whisk yogurt with minced garlic and a little salt. In a pan, heat olive oil, add dried mint and paprika, and let it sizzle for 30 seconds.
Assemble: Place bulgur balls on a serving plate, pour over the garlic yogurt, and drizzle with mint–paprika oil. Serve warm.
